She and Barry Millington will introduce and play Elgar’s Violin Sonata, one of the composer’s late, nostalgic chamber works, described by his wife, Alice, as ‘wonderful new music, different from anything else of his’ and by a close friend as ‘wood magic. So elusive & delicate’.
